Semplici: "I want a determined team with personality, we will give everything"

Two days before the home match against Inter, coach Leonardo Semplici spoke in a press conference at the "Bruno Ferdeghini" sports center: 
"I liked the second-half performance against Verona, the boys put on that mentality that I would like to transmit to the team: of wanting to make the competition and trying, through dribbling, to create scoring chances. With the group in these few days we talked about this aspect in view of the next challenge, which is against a great team. 
I could adapt Nikolaou if we have to opt for a four-man defense, we are evaluating the best solution and between today and tomorrow I will see what choices to make. I'm also hoping that Ampadu and Ekdal will be able to be in the match, because they've had some strains from last Sunday's match. So we will see who we will be able to count on to be able to field the best eleven at our disposal to give a great performance.
As far as Verde is concerned, I can say that he is an experienced player who has great value, he has technical qualities that others don't have and therefore a lot is always expected of this type of player, it will however be up to me to be able to put him in a condition to do even better and give that continuity of performance that can make the difference. I have great confidence in him. Overall, I am trying to give the team a balance to possibly rely on the Shomurodov-Nzola solution in attack, so we can have an extra arrow in our bow. An important aspect is to be able to be better in the goal area and send more players into the net and not just from Nzola. 
I have always said that the modules for me are not so important, rather the concepts, the philosophy and the idea of play of the guys count, then it is clear that there are the characteristics of the players and then you try to adapt the lineup to the qualities of the team, I am studying what will be the best solution to curb a great team like Inter. But I am more interested than anything else in the fact that the boys take the field with that mentality that I am asking for. I want the boys to take the field to have a great match, to be able to snatch important points for our path. We're going to need a team that has character, that has desire and that also has a desire to compete. We will need to have the personality and resourcefulness necessary to achieve great things.
Zurkowski turned out to be an important recovery, he is a very valuable player who came in very well against Verona in the running game and I am convinced that he will be able to give us a big hand in the coming days as well. Clearly he is trying to get to the best possible condition, working hard every day in training. He is a guy of great availability, but like him many others also show me great professionalism. Like for example Esposito, who has not played in the last few games, but who is showing important qualities. I will have to make sure that everyone is useful to the team's cause, even those players who arrived in the January market, helping them to fit quickly into the new league. On the injury front, I hope that after the break we can fully recover both Bastoni and Holm. 
Inter in my opinion boasts the strongest squad in the league, they are a very good team, clear that in these matches you try to go and occupy those areas to make them express themselves less than usual. This year they've had some problems with continuity, I hope maybe Friday can be one of those days, but it will be up to us to try to put them in trouble, with the qualities of my guys, but for sure by making a defensive-only contest it will be even more complicated to bring home the game. I don't want to hear about a match in which we have nothing to lose, because we are hungry for points and we have to try to always bring them home, regardless of the opponent. We want to exploit our qualities and try to put our opponents in trouble. I am convinced that we will be able to give battle and play with personality."
